With nearly 20 years of experience in international trade, Shige Zhang is familiar with the trade compliance management of multinationals, and helps large multinationals explore market opportunities and avoid trade risks by analyzing international trade policies. Having good knowledge of the cutting-edge policies and industry practices of digital trade, she has led the special research on non-market strategies and international trade policy guidance. Having participated in forums and policy discussions related to international trade, she has accumulated good knowledge of the operation mechanisms of overseas governments and international organizations, and has been able to communicate with the government, speak to the public, consult on public policies, and organize large-scale public relations campaigns.
Work Highlights
- 2021: Participated in the WTO special meeting on Information Technology Agreement (ITA), raising suggestions on the future policy direction of the ITA.
- 2019: Organizer and moderator of a symposium on digital trade at the WTO Public Forum, winning praise from the Chinese Ambassador to the WTO.
- 2019: Planned and excellently concluded the dialogue between leaders of international institutions and the senior management of the company, helping enhance the trust of international institutions in the company.
- 2018: Conducted joint research with the International Trade Center under the United Nations, wrote and published an English publication on trade facilitation, and made policy proposals on softening the business environment.
- 2016-2017: Leader of cross-departmental projects, responsible for guiding 27 key regional business entities to complete the AEO certification and helping the company establish global best practice. The company obtained the preferential port treatment at the highest level, improved the business efficiency, and won the trust of the government. The project team was awarded as the Gold Team, and Shige Zhang was awarded as the Gold Individual of the company.
- 2016: Successfully incorporated business demands into international rules, helping the company gain policy advantages and save costs in the expansion of the ITA, and winning the President’s Order of Commendation.
- 2012-2016: Participated in response to multiple anti-dumping and countervailing investigations, successfully closing the investigations and defending the company’s reputation, and winning three President’s Orders of Commendation.
- 2008-2010: Helped the company reduce costs by analyzing preferential trade policies in the international community and key countries, identifying opportunities, planning and implementing the programs for utilizing the preferential policies.
